Bits and Pieces, Co-Creation with Purdy Pavilion Long-term Care

Overview

This interactive publication was created as part of the Perspectives Program, and in partnership between the Purdy Pavilion long-term care home and Emily Carr University of Art + Design. The book contains retellings of some wonderful stories, highlights, moments and anecdotes from Mary-Ann and Lilian’s lives. The stories are unpredictable and at times even playful, and the pop-up and interactive illustrations reflect these qualities.

Highlighting Our Superhero Activity

Our second Getting to Know activity is called "Super Mary-Ann & Super Lilian Activity." We, story conductors, were inspired by "My Superhero Identity," which is a children’s exercise building their own Superhero story with their creativity. We believed that this activity would bring their childhood memories.

How We Played It?

  1. Ask 7 questions that we came out on the Miro board
  2. Collect Mary-Ann and Lilian's answers
  3. By sharing a screen, draw their superhero on the Miro board
